LIVING YOUR DREAM (PART 3)

As teenagers and even adults, we have come out to say we have a dream but the real question is how we came about that dream.

Dreams in this context does not mean the thoughts that flow through your mind when you are having a nap or an actual sleep. Such dreams are engineered by events of the day or basically dance around the thoughts running through your mind minutes before the force of nature take its course.

Dream in our context here are your hopes and wishes, the structure with which you want events in your life to follow or where you want to be at a particular point in your life.

One point that has been established is the fact that dreams come true. All it takes is knowing this dream and its applicability to your life.

But many have been eluded by how to know this dream, establishing what you see and how it matches up with their life.

This part of living your dream gives a step by step guide of how to know this
dream. Certain questions needs to be answered and set straight to help in knowing your dream.

1. WHAT IS MY HOBBY?

Every human have an hobby. In a funny but probably unfunny way, sleeping is a hobby.

Numerous hobbies exist ranging from the popular ones, singing, dancing, reading, watching movies and many more. Taking a look at cooking and eating as hobbies, some may ask why eating could be an hobby. It depends on how you look at it. Eating could mean you have a penchant for tasting varieties of foods. This form of life can be turned to being a chef assessor. Yes, that is a profession (you could call them professional tasters), and people make great living out of it.

Knowing what you love and enjoying it without external pressure could go a long way in helping you achieve this dream.

2. WHAT IS MY TALENT?

Aside from knowing your hobby, the desire and inclination for something is your talent.

Here is a simple way of discovering your talent; gather five of your closest friends and ask them what your greatest asset is.

This could go a long way in helping you achieve your dream.

3. WHO DO I WANT TO WORK WITH?

Every individual have an obvious set of people they love to be associated with.

Using your intuition to guide you toward such people help you see clearer, who you are.

4. WHAT TYPE OF ENVIRONMENT DO I WANT TO WORK IN?

Individuals have different environments they adapt to. Some love working in the midst of other while some are the sole-riders.

Group work in most cases help in solving problems but when it brings unease, it is best to build a life that wouldn’t at all times put you in the midst of people.

5. WHAT ARE MY PASSION?

What exactly make you genuinely happy in life?

Identify your passion and do everything in your power to do the thing you love.

Once this is done, you can then ask yourself how you can turn the passion to work for you.

Working in line with what you have a passion for help you take actions that others are not willing to take.

6. WHAT INSPIRES MY?

What encourages you, what drives you on could be books, websites, friends and family, cartoon series, or even a particular scenery. Try to get close to these.

Inspiration serves as a driving key to achieve your life goals.

7. HOW DO I MOTIVATE MYSELF TO TAKE ACTIONS?

Being inspired is good but motivating yourself through the inspiration to make the positive change in your life is what moves you from your current position.

8. WHO DO I ADMIRE?

Seek inspiration in others you admire. Though the world is complicated, certain people have come out with outstanding clear cut results of chasing their dreams.

Admiration does not mean you follow each and every step this person have taken, let them be a source of inspiration when you fail at something because at various points in life, road blocks will come up.

9. WHAT ARE MY WEAKNESS?

Trying to improve on that thing you scored low on is a way of working on your weaknesses since no one is perfect.

Acknowledging the weakness and making steps to improve on it gives you an edge over those seeing it as a stumbling block.

10. HOW CAN I MAKE MYSELF BETTER?

A lot of trainings exist nowadays. As a student or even a graduate, being conversant with new software and idea gives you a great edge. Taking certificate exams, reading wider than what directly applies to your field pushes you ahead.

Though often times not immediately applicable, but at one point or the other, these lessons help push you further.

These steps and many other steps help you in realising your dream. All it takes is setting aside times for thought and establishing which one directly applies to you.

 Put them in writing.

Seeing them on a daily basis could serve as a motivation to push you, telling you daily that you have a target.

HAVE A DREAM, BUT DONT STOP THERE, BEGIN TO LIVE YOUR DREAM.

THE HCP PRINCIPLE FROM CR7

Upon the successful recovery and restoration of Ronaldo's health at age 15 , Ronaldo had to commence rigorous training to regain his fitness and form to ensure an excellent performance on the pitch.

Its note worthy that Ronaldo was always with his round leather, and when the round leather is not available the round fruits bare the consequences.

But Ronaldo was not only hard working as young lad , he conciously maintained a top quality required of a soccer star in the making which was his earnest aspiration.

Ronaldo was disciplined and able to stay fit. A price he paid through Persistence.

HARDWORK, CONSISTENCY and PERSISTENCY are the three important element of success that made it possible for the youngster to set an unmarchable record at Sporting Lisbon.

Ronaldo remains the only player who has played for Sporting cp under 16, 17, 18, B - TEAM and the FIRST TEAM within a single season.

An incredible record I must confess and affirm.

What then as a lover of the round leather game and the super Ronaldo can we learn from him in this piece?

MORALE: HARDWORK, CONSISTENCY & PERSISTENCY are key success principle to being the best at what you do.

Ronaldo was not lazy,

Ronaldo avoided distraction,

Ronaldo endured the trying times,

Ronaldo is a star shinning brightly today.

YOU MUST NOT ONLY CELEBRATE HIM, YOU MUST LEARN FROM HIM.

If the HCP principle has worked for RONALDO , I believe it can work for me. And as a matter of fact, it is working for me. IT CAN WORK FOR YOU TOO.

BELIEVE IT. YES IT CAN.

THINK , NIGERIANS THINK

WHERE ARE THEY?

There was a story of a rich man and a poor man, Lazarus in the Holy Bible.

They both died.  The rich man went to hell and Lazarus was beside father Abraham in heaven.

The rich man became thirsty and begged Abraham to send Lazarus to dip his hand into water and drop it into his mouth. Alas! Abraham told him even if it was possible for him to agree to the request, it was not going to happen because there was a barricade between hell and heaven and neither of them could cross.

Okay! Going by the story of the rich man, it was not recorded of him that he was a sinner: a thief, an adulterous, a liar, etc.

In fact, it was not said of him that he didn’t fear or believe God. There was only one thing according to record that took him to hell; he did not have mercy on the man standing next to him.

For the past few months, the Nigerian government both at the Federal and State levels have refused to pay the workers what they are due.

They said there is a dwindling economy. Quiet alright, as an applied economist, a social observer, I am not blind, neither am I deaf.

But let me ask, does the dwindling economy affect the food budget at the
state house in the various 36 states and the Aso Villa?

Yet, the one who are doing the jobs despite not been paid are asked to go to work.

 How?

They borrow money to feed their families, they borrow money to sustain their children’s education, they borrow money to pay rent, yet, the government still asked them to keep borrowing money to transport themselves to offices to go and work for which they will not be paid.

Wait! For some years now, the various Courts in Nigeria had collected a lot of money from corrupt politicians as bail bonds.

Where are the monies?

500m, 200m, 100m, 50m, etc, where are they?

Despite the dwindling economy, the best sensible decision the Governors of Ondo, Edo, Abia and their cohorts could give to the hungry citizens are requests for loans.

So unfortunate that it has taken longer than necessary for the so called bailout funds to be released.

However, I can only imagine the kind of speed, velocity and accurate enthusiasm with which the millions of dollar loan request of the Edo state Government passed through have.

No Governor has had the gut to borrow to pay workers their entitlements. How many weeks did it take the rubber
stamp House of Assembly of Abia and Ondo to approve the loan requests of their Governors?

Yet, they claim they are waiting for the bailout fund to come from above as the banks cannot borrow them money to pay workers. Good!

But the loans being approved will come from where?

Yet, you will see churches asking people to pray against demons and enemies of progress they cannot even see.

What about the ones we can
see?

 Who is the greatest enemy?

The one that has refused to allow you to make a living by denying you work or they one that has refused to pay you despite borrowing to work for him?

If we cannot face the demons we can see, then I guess we should forget the demons we cannot see and let him rest.

The people are still being taught how
to give for the work of God, how to sow seed, how to give first offering.

Well, January will soon be here!

The best they have handed to the people
is to keep praying for the leaders that have drained the economy and still the only career they have is to keep draining the economy.

Many of these Governors have not reduced the percentage of the monthly allocation that they steal, they are
yet to reduce their security votes. I don’t care about their salaries.

Any reduction in salaries is an insult on the intelligence of vulnerable Nigerian society.

Tell the President and the Governors to declare in the open their allowances and estacodes.

Even those that promised to publicly declare assets have successfully lied to us as a people, though the people had so much trust in them as men of integrity and religious righteousness.

Let me take you back a bit! In South Africa, I really do not know much that Mandela would have done from prison if not for those who never gave up on the outside, of whom Arch. Bishop Desmond Tutu was one.

In fact, at a point, the struggle of Rev. Martin Luther King II was almost coming to an abrupt end if not his access to the
pulpit which gave him the opportunity to speak to10s of 100s of people at a time without calling for congress, conference or convention.

If not for that white priest, I really don’t know much that Mohandas K Ghandi will do as he was been faced with potential failure of his struggle.

However, the best we got in Nigeria is not active involvement of our religious leaders in governance for the good of the people but struggling for relevance.

They teach us to live holy life. Believe me, anyone that has no access to basic necessities of life: food,
cloth and shelter and still has to involve him/herself in social vices which makes him or her a certified hell
candidate.

How do I live holy life when I can’t
feed myself?

How do I wait for God to reward me
in heaven for living poor when my G.O. is riding Jet and assorted cars right on earth?

Who should wait till heaven to receive his reward?

Yet, they are quiet when their members can barely feed themselves. Nonetheless. They still expect Sunday offerings, love offerings, charity offerings and tithe from their members. From where?

The little they have borrowed to feed their children, and also transport themselves to offices /work?

A work they have no hope of been paid for?

What happened to a peaceful protest for good governance?

Or does the bible forbid it?

I am not a pastor or prophet. I may not have an idea if such is prohibited by the bible.

But I am a bit acquainted with history. I know the impact of religious leaders in the struggle of the liberation of the people from slavery of all kinds.

I cannot imagine what kind of social impact we would get if one Sunday, all roads in Nigeria are occupied by people from Anglica, Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, Redeem, Deeper Life, C&S, Celestial, etc.

I have not seen that President in this country that will stand the protest of such millions of people.

It is either he yields to their demands or leaves the office. I am not mincing words.

But the best we have got is more or less like what the white priests did to us when they arrived Africa.

They asked us to pray. When we opened our eyes, they already have our lands in their hands and we had bible in our hands.

If we need a real and true revolution, we must fight a good fight.

True freedom does not come to those who sit down and pray. How many countries are there in the world?

How many have oil under their feet?

Is Nigeria not one?

Yet, after giving us all we need to live good life, we still ask him to come and help us.

 What else should he do?

We have the land, yet we ask him to come and cultivate for us. While he is ready to give us bountiful harvest, we have refused to plant.

We always wait for the rain to fall before we plant.

What happened to field preparation?

It will be a good guess to say Nigeria is one of the nation
with the highest number of religious leaders. Yet, corruption is one of the greatest economic indices in the country.

Where are those our mouth piece of God before the general elections?

Why are they on leave?

Are they not in the country again?

We know those whose pulpit preachings sold like Psquare’s
songs.

Every speaker around you was just
blasting them, telling people why they should not vote for this or that.

If you are in the Eastern Nigeria, you would know this.

 Where are they?

Where are they?

It is indeed in the God of creation that an average Nigerian has hope.

People God has made to lord over their fellow men have failed in their capacities. They have failed to stand for and stay with the people.

The people have been left in the cold. They are like sheeps without shepherd.

It is indeed only God that will prepare the
generation that will ensure the liberation of the people from slavery he has not created for them.

Even the great Ronaldo onces experience a major set back. I am truly thrilled and wowed about this.

As a fan of this great man, what then does his life has to teach us as teenagers and adults?

MORALE : Challenges and set backs are unavoidable, they will surely come at some point or the other.

You must understand that like the life of Cristiano Ronaldo has taught us today, Challenges and set backs are TEMPORAL in life and they must be seen as such.

They must be approached with such a mindset and in a little while they will be a fascinating part of your success stories.
Dear reader, whatsover challenges you are encoutering today, they are temporal. Believe they are and in a short while you will overcome.

AN EPITOME OF SUCCESS ; CR7 (episode 2)

RONALDO NEVER RETURNED

Living in a room apartment that shelters the Aveiro's family of six, Cristiano Ronaldo attends school like every other kid in the community.

Ronaldo was quite popular and well known amongst his colleague in school, but the story was not thesame with his teachers.

Ronaldo had to endure the hard feelings from his teachers in school till a fateful day.

On this fateful day Ronaldo had a row with one of his teachers, whom he claimed disrespected him. Cristiano Ronaldo got angry on this day and threw a chair at his teacher.

An ugly event that eventually led to his expulsion from school.

A major blow that was for him and his strugling parents.

ALAS Ronaldo never returned to the class room.

At Age 14 having been a skillful lad in soccer and his unfortunate expulsion from school, Ronaldo took a brave decision of his life with the support of his mother to focus entirely on football.

Believing all will be well.

Ronaldo was quoted to have said

" I felt I had the potential. I thought i was maybe good enough at that time to play Semi- professional league"

What then as a huge fan of CRISTIANO RONALDO can we learn from this piece?

MORALE :: Ronaldo was able to find what he his passionate about, which he believe is capable of changing not only his story but will be able to inspire people around the globe. He was brave to back up his amazing discovery with a corresponding measure of risk needed ( not going back to the class room).

Now to you , the big fan of Ronaldo who can afford to spend your launch allowance to watch Ronaldo play in a film house.

What is your PASSION?

Have you got the nerves to follow your PASSION with a corresponding measure of RISK required?

IF i should ask, IS RONALDO'S RISK WORTH IT?

YOU CAN BE THE JUDGE.

LIVING YOUR DREAM (PART 2)

Life they often say is very short. Charles Richard pointed out

“Don’t be fooled by the calendar. There are only as many days in the year as you make use of.”

Every single individual have the same 24 hours in a day, seven days in the week, and fifty two weeks in the year but what each person makes of it decides on what his future will tell about him.

Youths of nowadays have the believe that their future starts when they graduate from the university.
This big misconception have been the limiting factor to having the desired life.

An in-depth look into the way life works, an average human gets to taking decisions at the age of nine.

Following the Nigerian academic system, they fall into the bracket of the early secondary school or upper basic level entrants. At this stage, the students are opened up to various aspects of teaching.

Decisions taken as to which subjects to love, the type of friends they hang out with, what they spend their spare time doing all have a big impact on the future of every individual.

The popular saying “Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are” if not wrongly misconstrued simply mean the way your friends (clique, pals, guys or even partners in crime) think or behave will have a great impact on how your life will also be fashioned.

A set of friends who aside having the basic fun that every youths should have should also have time at that tender age to discuss on their dreams.

Having a dream does not just mean sitting down and thinking of what you actually what to be in life, it is often very important to put such thoughts down in writing.

Learning to write down your dream helps you in future to review your dream and check for the lapses. Writing out a dream increases the chances of making it actionable. The time of achieving these dream must accompany it thereby regulating the events that take place in someone’s life. When time targets are not set, procrastination often occurs causing an unnecessary setback.

In other to live your dream and get the future you desire, you have to get clear on your intention and desire.

The question then is, how do I identify this dream of mine?

Is it the basic dream you have while sleeping!

Living your dream III answers that question.
